denmark fines muslim women for wearing niqab

We wanted to express some current events happening in the world through our website to create an awareness for our muslim students. Recently the government of Denmark said it planned to fine people who wore items including the niqab which are worn by some Muslim women. Various head coverings are worn by Muslim women, but the bans will only include the niqab, which covers the face but leaves the eyes clear. Under the proposals anyone found covering their face would be fined up to 10,000 kroner (about 1,000 dollars). It has been estimated the introduction of the law in Denmark will affect more than 200 women. Many muslims have tried protesting but have been shut down and have no choice but to go along with the ban. No one is making any awareness of this, because most of the time muslims shown in the news are usually portrayed with the stereotype that they only hurt others. They are taking away a basic right to a human and it’s unfair. Women there are just trying to practice their religion and be modest and they should not restrict them from clothing that they are choosing to wear.
